What makes this piece particularly significant is the presence of two inscribed Chinese characters in lighter lacquer, reading “official” and “Lee.” This personalisation suggests the dish was specially commissioned for a high-ranking government official bearing the surname Lee.
Measuring 20 cm in diameter, the dish has survived in notably good condition considering its antiquity and delicate materials. Some areas of the lacquer have naturally lifted over time, but the dish remains entirely intact with no repairs or restoration.
